As we prepare for our return to in-person learning, we want to make sure you have a smooth transition back to campus and your off-campus residence. Please complete this survey as soon as possible. If you do not know the status of your off-campus residence, please contact your landlord or property management company as soon as possible to obtain this information. If you are unable to contact your landlord or property management company, please let us know by emailing SRSS@tulane.edu.
For those of you who have never experienced anything like this, here are some helpful things to know:
- Though the power is coming back on in the city, it is not business as usual. Gas, groceries and other necessities are in short supply. They are also still trying to restore cable and internet access across this city. This may be the case for many days to come.
 - If you had water intrusion of any kind, your landlord should engage a professional remediation company like ServPro to do the necessary repair work.
 - If your landlord tells you that there is damage, they should be able to provide you with an estimated time for repair.
 - Know your rights! You can find a list of the Louisiana State Tenant’s Rights and Responsibilities here.
 - If you had damage to your personal property, and do not have renter’s insurance, you may be able to get some relief from FEMA, or if you are a dependent, your parent’s homeowners insurance.

If you believe that your residence has sustained so much damage that it will not be inhabitable for the fall semester, please let us know by e-mailing Camille Vitrano at cvitrano@tulane.edu. At this time, we do not have a plan for long-term housing assistance, but are trying to assess the needs in this area, so that we may determine the best way to support our students who have experienced this loss.
