Flu Shots Available for Tulane Students

October 8, 2021

Dear Parent,

As flu season approaches, we are providing free flu shots in the Health Center for Student Care. We  have also scheduled a series of community outreach events to encourage students to get their shot.

Flu Shots are required for all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Students receiving their flu vaccine from outside the Tulane system must report their vaccination through the Patient Portal. The records of students receiving their flu vaccination on campus will be automatically updated.

No-cost flu shots will be available on the Uptown Campus Oct. 18-22 and throughout the remainder of the semester by appointment. Please make sure that your student has uploaded their insurance information to their patient portal.  Dates and locations will be widely promoted to students, but please help us out by reminding your student to get a flu shot.

No-cost flu shot appointments will be available at the Health Center Uptown beginning October 11. Students must bring their Splash ID and wear a shirt that allows us roll up a sleeve. If your student has never visited the Health Center before, encourage them to fill out their patient forms on the Patient Portal before arriving. There are two ways to schedule appointments through the Campus Health website.

REMEMBER: COVID-19 Testing and Boosters

As a service to those faculty, students and staff eligible to receive a Pfizer booster, Tulane has reopened its Vaccine Clinic in the lobby of the JBJ building, 1324 Tulane Avenue. Information on eligibility and scheduling can be found here.

Vaccination status does not preclude Tulane University COVID-19 testing requirements. All individuals on campus, regardless of vaccination status are required to complete COVID testing when they receive their QR code.

We have seen a reduction in student testing compliance in the last several weeks. Please make sure your student is completing the COVID-19 testing requirement so they avoid repercussions for non-compliance.

Sincerely,

Scott Tims, PhD
Assistant Vice President for Campus Health
