Waterfront Havdalah and Special NOLA Experience!

Saturday March 2nd 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Location: Uptown Campus

Join us for the kick-off event of Scubi Jew, the Hillel Subgroup dedicated to Tikun Hayam, repairing the sea! We are nestled in the heart of New Orleans, a city intimately connected to the water, with its borders touching the Mississippi River, Lake Pontchartrain, and the mouth of the Mississippi River basin into the Gulf of Mexico; we are uniquely positioned to make a significant impact on water justice.

On Saturday, March 2nd, from 6:15-7:45 PM, we invite you to a special Waterfront Havdalah on Bayou St. John. Whether you are passionate about water justice or simply intrigued by the Jewish tradition of Havdalah, this event promises an enriching experience. The evening will commence with a meaningful Havdallah ceremony and a brief Torah study focused on the importance of water in Jewish teachings. Sign up here.

Following our spiritual exploration, we embark on a unique New Orleans experience. We're thrilled to offer an insider's look into the magic of Mardi Gras with a visit to a Mardi Gras den. What sets this experience apart is that the den belongs to an eco-friendly krewe, demonstrating a commitment to making Mardi Gras not only a celebration of culture but also a responsible endeavor for our environment and waterways.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of Scubi Jew's mission to repair the sea and promote water justice in our beloved city. Transportation to and from Hillel to the Bayou will be covered! Sign up here
