Thursday Night Jazz

The Newcomb Department of Music furthers its mission of introducing students to New Orleans culture with Thursday Night Jazz, a series of concerts held in the Dixon Annex Recital Hall. Hosted and curated by Black American Music faculty, each live performance features students and faculty from Tulane's Black American Music program, and includes performances by visiting artist and local New Orleans musicians. This series welcomes the community to observe the mentoring process between professional artists of New Orleans and university students learning their craft. It is a space for education and professional training and the community, including students from other institutions, can enjoy this series in a vibrant university setting. All concerts are free and open to the public.
