Program Overview

The Ph.D. in Latin American Studies & Art History is a small and highly selective program. Students must develop a primary concentration, such as Pre-Columbian, colonial, or modern, and a secondary one within Latin American Art or a comparative area.

This program is housed in the Roger Thayer Stone Center for Latin American Studies, one of the largest and most prestigious interdisciplinary units at Tulane. It functions in many capacities to ensure students gain comprehensive knowledge of Latin America through a mixture of academic study, specialized training and research abroad.
