Remote Work Option Through 1/28

January 21, 2022

Dear Supervisors,

As we continue to monitor current COVID-19 conditions in New Orleans, please review the following update regarding staff employees working from home and make arrangements with your teams as needed:

  • As our undergraduate students and many of our graduate and professional students will be starting their in-person classes on January 25, all employees whose on-campus presence plays a role in the support of our faculty and their students must return to in-person work no later than Tuesday, Jan. 25.

  • For all staff employees who have been temporarily approved to work remotely and are able to continue to do so successfully, we ask that you allow them to continue to do so through next Friday, Jan. 28.

While positive cases in New Orleans remain high, they do appear to be dropping quickly. With a bit of flexibility and a few additional days of hybrid remote work, we will work together to get to the other side of this Omicron surge. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to evolve our response to the pandemic with the overarching goal of protecting the public health and safety of our community, and we will continue to monitor current and projected health information in the coming weeks and months.

It can’t be said enough—your diligence, patience, and leadership throughout these challenging and complicated times are of the greatest value to the university. Thank you for your continued dedication and, should you have any questions or need additional support, please reach out to your HR Business Partner.
