Employee Testing Program Guidelines for Spring Semester

December 17, 2020

Dear Tulane Employees,

All Tulane employees, including those who are working remotely, will be required to complete a return-to-campus test in January and participate in ongoing surveillance testing, as directed, throughout the spring semester. Employee testing notices will be sent no later than Friday, Dec. 18. Keep the QR code included with the testing notice for your return-to-campus testing in January.

Testing centers re-open Monday, Jan. 4. Employees are required to complete one test prior to the start of classes, Jan. 19. It is ideal to get your test before returning to work but not required. Work with your supervisor to determine testing timeline.

Winter Recess Campus Health and Testing Site Operations

Campus Health will be closed Saturday, Dec. 19 – Sunday, Jan. 3. The chtestresults@tulane.edu email account will not be monitored and responses to email will resume Monday, Jan. 4.

Limited testing hours at the downtown LaSalle testing site will be offered throughout winter recess. Please visit the patient portal for scheduling availability. You may use this option if you need testing to return to work prior to Jan. 4, 2021.

For Employees who have previously tested positive for COVID-19

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, please refer to the following guidelines:

Employees who tested positive for COVID-19 prior to Oct. 1, 2020

  • Follow the return-to-campus testing protocol as stated above and the regularly scheduled surveillance testing throughout the semester.

Employees who tested positive for COVID-19 on or after Oct. 1, 2020

  • In this case, you will not be required to complete a return to campus COVID-19 test or required to participate in the surveillance testing until directed to do so by Campus Health.
  • Those who tested positive outside of the Tulane Testing Program are required to submit documentation through the COVID-19 Reporting Form.
