Helluva Hullabaloo
Inspired by our motto — not for oneself but for one’s own — Tulane’s faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and friends are called to advance our distinguished tradition and relentlessly pursue a better tomorrow.

Beach Volleyball Honors
Following a record-setting season on the sand, Tulane beach volleyball garnered several postseason honors awarded by Conference USA. Head Coach Eyal Zimet was named CUSA Coach of the Year, and four student-athletes earned All-Conference honors. Samantha Green and Skylar Ensign received All-Conference First Team nods after the pair’s 32-6 record together this spring. Molly Trodd landed a spot on the All-Conference Second Team, and sisters and teammates Skylar and Tawny Ensign were named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team.

Major Gifts and Wins
Tulane Athletics continued its remarkable success both on and off the field. That success included a transformative $10 million gift from Don (’81) and Lora Peters to upgrade athletics facilities and a $2.75 million gift from Libby (’84) and Robert Alexander for a new community sailing headquarters. In addition, Tulane’s sailing team celebrated Ava Anderson's victory at the ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championships, while the baseball team clinched a second consecutive American Athletic Conference championship.

New Leadership in Athletics
Tulane introduced key leadership changes in athletics, signaling a dynamic new era for Tulane sports. Ashley Langford (’09), who played under legendary Tulane women’s basketball coach Lisa Stockton, returned to uptown as the team’s seventh head coach. Meanwhile, Jon Sumrall, a former Tulane assistant coach, was appointed head coach for Tulane football and David Harris, a Baton Rouge native, was named the Green Wave’s new Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair.

Celebrating the Class of 2024
During this year’s Unified Commencement Ceremony, President Michael A. Fitts praised the Class of 2024 for their resilience, and keynote speaker Jon Meacham and student speaker Tamunoboma Dominion Fenny delivered inspiring speeches to the class. Honorary degrees were awarded to Meacham, civil rights leader Leona Tate and physician-scientist Dr. Victor Dzau. The ceremony concluded with a New Orleans-style send-off, including jazz music, fireworks and a second-line parade.
