Building Community
Institutions of higher learning have the power to transform lives. At Tulane, this begins by making our community a more inclusive and supportive home for all.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Plots
Nestled among trees near the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life, Tulane’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) plots recognize the historically Black Greek-letter organizations, which have served an important role in building a more welcoming and supportive environment for Black students in higher education. The plots serve as a public space for students, alumni and community members to gather, reflect and celebrate the rich history and continued work of organizations within the NPHC.

NTC Dean’s Colloquium
Alumna and Board of Tulane member Lisa P. Jackson (’83), Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, was the guest speaker at the Newcomb-Tulane College John J. Witmeyer III Dean’s Colloquium. Prominent attorney and Board of Tulane member Kim Boyle served as moderator. Jackson, who has been previously honored as a Tulane Trailblazer, discussed the importance of mentorship.

Inspiring Future Scientists
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Tulane National Primate Research Center hosted its inaugural Women and Girls in Science Symposium, empowering high school girls from across St. Tammany Parish who excel in science and have expressed interest in pursuing a research career. The students were welcomed, alongside their parents and mentors, to an evening of presentations by research and veterinary scientists and a reception where they could mingle with members of the TNPRC community.
