Enhancing Downtown

A $5 million gift is set to transform Tulane's downtown campus, thanks to longtime Tulane donor and board chair Carol Lavin Bernick. The Carol Lavin Bernick Downtown Investment Fund for campus enhancements will bring major landscaping and streetscaping upgrades to the heart of New Orleans’ BioDistrict and commercial corridor encouraging collaboration, socializing and community. These improvements will set the scene for Tulane's historic redevelopment of the iconic Charity Hospital building, which will revitalize this pivotal area and positively impact the many New Orleanians who live and work downtown. Tulane is investing $600 million to accommodate a planned 600 researchers.
