Statistics

Program Options
Program Overview

The Master of Science degree in Statistics combines theory and application. Students in statistics will be trained in data collection, the editing and presentation of large data sets, the analyses of these sets and the mathematical foundations upon which all of these areas are based.

The 4+1 Master’s Program enables Tulane students to obtain a B.S. in mathematics in 4 years, and in one additional year, to obtain an M.S. in statistics.

Psychology

Program Options
Program Overview

The School Psychology Doctoral Program embraces an ecologically-grounded scientist-practitioner model of training. The goal of our training is to prepare professionals who are sensitive to the complex interplay of biological, cultural, economic, social, and psychological influences that contribute to child development. Students enrolled in the Psychological Science Ph.D. program may elect to focus on health psychology and earn the graduate certificate.

The 4+1 terminal Master's Programs in Psychology provide qualified students earning a baccalaureate degree in Psychology from Tulane University and Xavier University of Louisiana with graduate training in psychology.

Neuroscience

Program Overview

The graduate program in Neuroscience consists of the one-year Master's program, the 4+1 Master's program, and the Ph.D. program. Neuroscience accepts approximately 25-30 students into its Master's program and 3-5 students into its Ph.D. program every year. While the Master's program prepares students for professional schools and continued graduate studies, the Ph.D. program prepares students for research-related careers in biomedical science.

Mathematics

Program Overview

Our department offers a Master’s Degree in Mathematics as well as a Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics. The Master’s degree emphasizes different aspects of theory and applications in order to prepare the students for either continuing studies at the Ph.D. Level or employment. The Ph.D. program prepares students for a career in research at a university, a government agency or in industry.

Our faculty members are actively engaged in research and mentoring so that doctoral students can choose a faculty advisor according to the students’ interests.
