Hurricane Katrina taught a hard lesson about the importance of managing water and coastal resources. The Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law and Policy, featured in this video, helps frame policies for managing waterways in New Orleans and nationwide.
Mark Davis, senior research fellow and director of the institute, stands at the banks of the Mississippi River and says, “There’s no way we’re going to get out of the situations we’re in without a firmer understanding of the importance of water and the development of new laws and policies for managing it.”
