This fall, hundreds of Tulane University alumni will return to New Orleans on Oct. 4–5 to celebrate Reunion Weekend 2013. Graduates who travel from around the globe to reunite with classmates and reconnect with Tulane will be treated to a bigger, bolder and more exciting reunion than ever before, according to James Stofan, vice president for alumni relations.

“Reunion Weekend 2013 will be the best reunion weekend our alumni have ever experienced,” Stofan says. “There will be more parties, more classmates and more opportunities to enjoy the city of New Orleans with old friends.”

Class members will kick off the festivities Friday, Oct. 4, on campus by discussing the future of Tulane University at a town hall meeting with President Scott Cowen. There will be a Homecoming carnival and the chance to sip cocktails at class welcome receptions. Class members also can gather at the Wave ’13 all-alumni party to savor favorite New Orleans dishes, rock out to the sounds of local blues legend Deacon John and view a special Homecoming fireworks display.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, reunion alumni will have time to enjoy what the city has to offer and cheer on the Green Wave football team during the last Homecoming game to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. That evening, attendees will paint the town green during private parties with classmates at some of the Crescent City’s best venues.

“I’ve had a blast reaching out to my classmates and encouraging everyone to get together in New Orleans to enjoy the Reunion Weekend festivities,” says Tobias Smith, 1998 class chair. “We start off talking about the reunion and before long we are reminiscing about dorm life, meals in Bruff and sipping PJ’s coffee with our favorite professors.”

The Newcomb Alumnae Association also will host reunion events and class brunches, and Newcomb alumnae are invited to attend Reunion Weekend events.
