Whether your activity of choice is yoga, Zumba, running or biking, the Live Healthy challenge is a great place to begin kicking your activity into high gear. Tulane University employees are encouraged to sign up for the challenge, which begins Monday, Jan. 27, and concludes Friday, April 4.

Lindsay Garcia, the university’s employee wellness coordinator, says that since the challenge was first announced about a week ago, more than 200 employees have enrolled. As an incentive, the first 100 received free memberships to the Reily Student Recreation Center or free personal training sessions for those who already are members.

Not enrolled yet? There are still prizes to be won.

“Employees who track their activity during all 10 weeks will be entered to win several great prizes,” says Garcia. “We will raffle off a Jawbone UP activity wristband and a Wii Fit in addition to weekly team prizes along the way.”

For the duration of the competition, participants will be challenged to track their physical activity, food intake and weight on the Live Healthy Tulane site. Each team — of at least two and no more than 10 employees — will have progress measured by the average amount of physical activity performed.

Registration is $9 which includes a Live Healthy T-shirt. Employees can join now through Feb. 4.
