The Department will be welcoming two new faculty members in Fall 2015, Daniel Burnston (Philosophy of Cognitive Science, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science) and Chad Van Schoelandt (Social and Political Philosophy, Ethics, Agency and Responsibility)
Tulane is home to The Murphy Institute of Political Economy, which offers an undergraduate program in political economy and supports PPE: A Journal of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. The department is closely connected with The Murphy Institute's Center for Ethics and Public Affairs.
John Howard, who is Associate Director of the Murphy Institute and teaches courses in the philosophy department, was awarded the 2007 Mortar Board Award for Excellence in Non-Tenured Teaching.
