“Sexual Violence and Political Crisis in India”

Subah Dayal is an Assistant Professor at Tulane University. Her current book, The Household State: Regional elites and the making of Mughal conquest in south India, examines the operations of elite provincial households and their role in shaping the Mughal empire from the seventeenth to eighteenth centuries. She received her Ph.D. in History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. Her research and teaching interests include the social and cultural history of Mughal India and early modern global history.
