Title: "Birthing Organizations: Applying the Principles of the Birth Justice Movement" 

Biography: Birthmark Doula Collective is a doula-owned cooperative that works to improve Louisiana maternal and infant mortality through pregnancy and parenting support services, education and advocacy. It was co-founded in 2011 by doulas Latona Giwa and Dana Keren. Latona Tope Giwa is a perinatal health advocate, Registered Nurse and Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and most recently co-founded the New Orleans Breastfeeding Center. Dana Keren received her MBA from Tulane University and currently works as the Senior Administrator for Tulane School of Medicine's OB/GYN Department.

Fridays at Newcomb is a weekly speaker series hosted by Newcomb College Institute. Each event is free and open to the public and lunch is provided.
