Colored Conventions Project, Regional Workshop

Location: uptown campus
Building:Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, Room 308

This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the Colored Conventions Project, an NEH-funded digital humanities collaboration that focuses on recovering and interpreting the history of early African American political organizing (ColoredConvenions.org).

Participants will explore a variety of digital tools for teaching and creating exhibits, looking at examples of existing CCP exhibits and curricula. They will learn about opportunities to become CCP Teaching Partners and develop exhibits in their own classrooms and communities, based on Colored Conventions that took place in Louisiana in 1865 and 1870.
