Descriptions: Tutor children from 5-12 years old in small group setting
Product of Partnership: Tutoring Program
Final Product Special Instructions:Tulane students focus on helping tutor students tailored to the child's needs, including mentoring and literacy help. Tulane students work with younger students individually and in small groups, including the following schools ARISE Academy, Lafayette Academy, Edward Hynes Charter School, and Milestone SABIS.
This service activity is availble for Service learning students Intern students Volunteers.
Background Check is Required. Tulane students receive background checks with the help of the CPS course coordinators, including copies of picture IDS.
Other requirement: Tulane students need to be enthusiastic and pro-active when working with younger students through A's & Aces. They serve as role models.
The CP requests emergency contact information. The program asks for contact information that is maintained in a file.
Evaluations/surveys will be requested by community partner to be completed by students.
The evaluation has been given to student both written and oral as a reflection activity. Students are asked to provide feedback.Students allowed to take pictures or video.
Specific Policies: Photos can only be taken for personal purposes; not to be posted on social media sites or used publicly.
Appropriate dress to work in a school environment with children.
Availability Requirements:9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Minimum Positions: 1
ARISE Academy, Lafayette Academy, Edward Hynes Charter School, and Milestone SABIS. The Edward Hynes portion of the program is taking place at Dillard University.

Check-in at the site: In general, the Tulane students report to the A's & Aces site director at the school. A's & Aces provides an orientation for students to meet those contacts.
Students track their hours at site: The site director has sign-up sheets for the students to log in their hours. These sheets are monitored by the site director.
