Miranda Stramel, a Ph.D. student in Latin American Studies, serves as the CPS Research Project Associate for the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Miranda earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 2004 with a double major in Spanish and International Relations. After college she worked as a Spanish interpreter, ESL assistant and advocate for the children of migrant agricultural workers in public schools in her home state of Arkansas, and later as an international student advisor at the University of Arkansas. She received an M.A. in International Education, a Program of Intercultural Service and Leadership, from SIT Graduate Institute (formerly the School for International Training) in 2010 while working in the Education Department at Heifer International. Currently Miranda is the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Workplace Justice Project at Loyola University Law School. Her research interests include social justice movements, global and experiential education, and community development.
