Dear Tulane Community:
Once again, we implore everyone in our community to get vaccinated as soon as possible. With the emergence of the delta variant, which is more severe and transmissible than previous strains of COVID-19, it is increasingly important that all individuals are vaccinated. Vaccinations are our best line of defense against this global epidemic.
When more people are vaccinated, there are fewer chances for COVID-19 to spread, regardless of the mutation. From the data that are currently available, the vaccines appear to be effective against the new strains of SARS-CoV-2, including the delta variant.
Although a vast majority of Tulanians have received their COVID-19 vaccine, it is important that we continue to monitor all suspected or reported cases of the coronavirus within our community. Please fill out this form if you if you suspect you are infected with COVID-19, have come in contact with someone who is infected or tested positive for COVID-19 from a facility other than Campus Health or the Tulane Testing Centers. This information will help us further reduce spread of the disease by ensuring appropriate campus areas are cleaned and disinfected and close contacts of positive individuals are notified.
As a reminder, Tulane Testing Centers are for asymptomatic testing purposes only. If you are an employee experiencing any symptoms, or are ill, contact The Living Well Clinic. Students experiencing symptoms or who are ill should contact Campus Health.
All undergraduate, graduate and professional students are required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Students are allowed to decline the vaccination only for reasons consistent with Louisiana state vaccine laws. However, they must submit a Vaccine Declination Form. If you have received a COVID-19 vaccine at a clinic other than the Tulane Vaccine Clinic, located on the first floor of the JBJ Building, the Tulane Living Well Occupational Health Clinic, located at 1430 Tulane Avenue, Room 1510 or the Phelps Hall Vaccination Clinic on the uptown campus, please report proof of vaccination through the Campus Health Patient Portal. If you need guidance on uploading your vaccine record to this portal, please review this online video tutorial. Employees must also report their vaccination status through the Campus Health Patient Portal.
The deadline for students to submit their vaccine record was July 15. Those who missed this deadline will have a hold placed on their registration. To remove this registration hold, please submit your vaccine status today.
