A glorious finale to the 2014 Birdfoot Festival, this concert features Schubert's ebullient "Trout" Quintet as well as lesser known masterpieces by Czech and Russian composers. Leos Janacek's String Quartet no. 2 - title "Intimate Letters" in reference to the composer's epic correspondence with a married woman 37 years his junior - opens the concert, followed by Anton Arensky's sumptuous quartet for two cellos, violin, and viola, and a mischievous Duo for violin and cello by Bohuslav Martinu. Join the Festival artists, board, staff, and volunteers for a celebratory reception after the concert!
