“Discovering Social Innovation through Scholarship” is the first annual symposium on social innovation led by doctoral students from Tulane University. The symposium offers an opportunity for researchers and academics to learn how different disciplines are investigating social innovation. We aim to hold a scholarly forum to:
The symposium provides a forum for social innovation scholars to delve into cutting edge research, learn and explore methods, discuss trends and hot-button issues, and connect to new networks. We seek to engage and discover a network of scholars around the world researching social innovation with hopes of this becoming the annual scholarly student-led social innovation event.
The symposium will feature keynote speaker and special guest Phil Auerswald, 2013 Presidential Fellow at George Mason University, Co-Founder and Co-Editor of Innovations, a quarterly journal about entrepreneurial solutions to global challenges.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
We invite submissions for original research - appropriate methods, theories, paradigms, cases, applications, data etc. - from scholars at different stages of their work, from work in progress to final dissertations. We accept submissions for individual papers or posters, presentations, and group/joint workshop sessions. We encourage diverse, creative suggestions for workshops, discussions, activities, and panel presentations. Please submit a 250 word abstract on your idea by Monday, March 10, 2014 at 5 PM CST at http://tulane.edu/socialentrepreneurship/sisymposiumcall.cfm.
