Voluntary Termination

If you are a nonexempt employee and intend to voluntarily terminate your employment with the University, you are asked to provide written notice to your supervisor at least 2 weeks prior to your last working day.  If you are an exempt employee, you are requested to provide at least 4 weeks of notice. 

After your termination, you will receive pay for your accrued but unused vacation leave, up to the maximum.  Sick leave is not paid out upon termination of employment.

If you are absent from work during the notice period, your vacation leave will be reduced accordingly.  If you use sick leave after you have given notice, you may be required to provide a doctor’s certificate. 

You must return all University property assigned to you on or before your last day of work.  At the time of your voluntary termination from the University any money owed by you to the University must be repaid.
