Dear Tulane Student:

I know this is a busy time for you as you prepare for school in the fall.  As a student who may receive a Federal Work Study grant, you will also want to prepare for finding a job after class starts in August. 

There are a couple of opportunities for you to be aware of in advance of your arrival:

Website:

Our website provides you with several useful tools.  There you will find:

• The Tulane University Federal Work Study Handbook
• Job Posting website:   College Central Network (CCN).  You can register at CCN as a student, and search for jobs.
• Standard forms:  required to complete once you are hired

Job Fair:
Workforce Management will host a job fair, open to all students where you will meet representatives from Tulane departments who are interested in hiring students.

• Date:    Tuesday, September 4, 2012
• Place:   Lavin Bernick Center, LBC-213 Kendall Cram Lecture Hall
• Time:   9:00 AM until 2:00 PM

Important information:
Note the following:

• You must accept your work study award online if you want to have a work study job at Tulane.
• Completing an application does not guarantee that you are hired for any job.  You will be notified personally once you have been hired for a position.
• We encourage you to explore the opportunities and apply for several jobs.
• Pay special attention to the documents required to accompany your I-9 form that has to be completed before you can begin work.  The list of acceptable documents is attached.
• • They must be presented in person in their original form.  (For example, if you choose to present your driver’s license and birth certificate, we cannot accept copies, scans, or faxes.)
