On April 1, 2013, which is the Monday after Easter and the last day of Spring Break, I hope you will join President Cowen and your fellow staff and faculty members for the third annual Day of Service. This year we will beautify Central City and support organizations in this historic neighborhood that is in the midst of an exciting revitalization—most evident in the vibrant redevelopment of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard. As Tulanians, you consistently demonstrate your active citizenship and commitment to our community’s prosperity through your work here at the university, and we hope that you will take part in this meaningful community service day.
You can register to participate at http://riptide.me/service2013 any time between now and March 15. We do need you to register, as we will provide round-trip transportation from campus to Central City, snacks and beverages at the volunteer sites, and are planning a closing lunch at Turchin Stadium for all participants.
Our Day of Service has been an important addition to the university’s community engagement record. Please continue our great tradition of service by signing up today for April 1, 2013!
