Tips for shipping and mailing to students

ALWAYS use the following address format:

STUDENTS'S FULL NAME #(MAILBOX NUMBER)
TULANE UNIVERSITY
31 MCALISTER DRIVE
NEW ORLEANS, LA 70118-5645

Make sure items are correctly addressed.  Do NOT use the designation "BOX" or "PO BOX" anywhere in the address
NEVER address items to the student's residence hall.  Residence halls do not accept deliveries of any kind.
The student's correct name MUST appear on the address label and not the name of the person placing the order.
ALWAYS send items through a carrier that provides a tracking number.
Boldly marking the sides of all packages with the mailbox number will improve handling time once the item arrives at Tulane.
NEVER SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL!!!
Mark perishable packages and include the student's cell phone number so that we can give them a courtesy call to alert them that a perishable item has arrived.
Send medication or other urgent items via FedEx Express service.

DO NOT send liquids (soup cans, shampoo, etc.)
