The Crafty Ladies voted to keep their group alive and change their name to reflect the memory of April Brayfield. The Ladies provide an opportunity for knitters, crocheters and other crafters alike to share current works-in-progress, ask and answer questions, offer help, and make plans for future meetings. Additionally, the members continually knit scarves to contribute to various needy causes.
Marjorie Weiner is their new chair. The remaining meeting dates for this year include: March 5, April 2 and May 7. The meetings take place from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Newcomb Faculty Lounge. During the March 5 gathering, a "yarn swap" will take place, so please feel free to bring any yarn that you would like to trade for other yarn, or yarn you would like to pass along to someone else.
April Brayfield was an Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at Tulane. The University's online daily news feed, New Wave, has published several articles illustrating April's passionate cause...
