myTulane New Building Block Implementation Policies

Building Blocks are software extensions or add‐ons that add functionality or new features to our existing myTulane installation. We have found several Building Blocks to be useful additions to our system and we are always on the lookout for ways to improve teaching and learning outcomes as well as better serve the needs of Tulane’s academic community. If you are interested in adding a Building Block to the myTulane system, please review the following policies and submit your request via the procedure outlined below.

Policies on Building Blocks

  1. Building Blocks will be installed once a year during June.
  2. Priority will be given to Building Block requests that benefit the entire institution.

Procedure for Requesting a Building Block

To request a Building Block, please send an email to courses@tulane.edu.

You will need to provide the following information:

  1. The name of the Building Block
  2. A short description of the Building Block, including a link to the developer/software company that created it and a brief summary of the needs it fulfills
  3. The cost, both up‐front and yearly maintenance
  4. Who will bear the cost
  5. How you envision the Building Block improving pedagogy; in other words, your goal for use of the Building Block

Building Block Term

Unless otherwise arranged in the purchasing agreement, Building Blocks will be installed on myTulane for one year and will be reviewed annually.
