Technology Services provides e-mail accounts to all Tulane faculty, staff, and students. We run a Microsoft Exchange 2003 server. It is accessible via the Web at https://owa.tulane.edu
Members of the Tulane community can also configure one of our supported clients, Outlook, Entourage, or Ximian Evolution. More information on configuring these clients is available in the e-mail folder of the HelpU 24.7 site.
Tulane Access Accounts
Employees are entitled to one account which will provide access to e-mail and other systems. This account is automatically created by the Identity Lifetime Manager (ILM) when faculty and staff records are entered into the Banner system. Every employee will be entitled to one account/e-mail address. Please contact your HR representative so that the personal information for the new employee can be entered into Banner.
E-mail lists
Technology Services also runs a listserv server which hosts e-mail lists for faculty, staff, departments, and student organizations. To apply for a listserv list, fill out our listserv online application form. Distribution lists are also available through Tulane’s Exchange server. For information about setting up a distribution list, please contact an agent at HelpU 24.7 or the listserv administrator, lsvmaint@tulane.edu.
Exchange resources
Faculty and staff may request a resource in Exchange (for example, a conference room) by contacting HelpU 24.7. The request must include the following information about the resource:
The HelpU 24.7 agent will put in a ticket to a systems administrator, who will create the resource.
Alumni e-mail
Alumni Affairs offers a forwarding service for students after graduation. The service allows you to keep the same e-mail address (you@tulanealumni.net) regardless of the e-mail provider. The service only a forwards, there is no interface or storage space to actually sustain an e-mail account. For more information, visit the Alumni Affairs site.
