Tulane Technology Services Road Map 2012-13 is Online

VP for Information Technology and CTO Charlie McMahon, pictured here, opens the Road Map presentation by saying that Technology Services' mission is to deliver technology solutions that support achieving Tulane's institutional goals and objectives. In the spirit of keeping campus leadership well-informed of upcoming innovations on campus, we recently presented our Road Map for FY 2012-2013 at Tech Day on September 28.

Highlights include:

  • Moving Tulane telephone service to Internet2 Service – telephone service will be delivered via internet rather than traditional telephone lines.
  • Establishing a Network Operations and Support Center (NOC) – TS will construct a state of the art operations center to monitor the network and systems.
  • Enterprise Applications – new Gibson schedule of classes application will feature multiple planners, conditional add/drop and registration directly from planner.
  • Security – growing security posture.
  • Upgrading the learning management system  - myTulane will upgrade to Blackboard Learn 9.1 this Spring semester.
  • Implementing Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) - moving Tulane out of the cable TV delivery environment to an IP based environment.
