You're sitting in front of your computer working on that big project and you notice "I've run out of storage space!" Well, don't panic - Tulane affiliates have several options when it comes to file storage solutions: myTulane, Greenspace and SkyDrive. These online storage solutions enable users to access files from any web-enabled computer. Even if you have plenty of space on your local machine, it's always a smart idea to have a back-up copy of that all-important grant proposal or term paper.
For detailed instructions on using any of the resources described below, visit the Knowledge base at http://support.ts.tulane.edu.
myTulane offers secure fie storage, web-based file sharing and document management. Students and staff members have access to 25MB of personal content space. Faculty have access to 100MB of personal content space and 350MB for course content per course. To access this resource, login to myTulane.blackboard.com with your Tulane username and password. Then click on the myContent tab.
Greenspace also offers secure, web-based file sharing and document management. Students, faculty and staff have 40MB of storage. To access this resource login to Greenspace with your Tulane username and password.
At 25GB, SkyDrive offers the most file storage space. SkyDrive is appropriate for most types of file storage but is not recommended for PCI files (personal and confidential information).
To access Skydrive, users must sign in to the Windows Live SkyDrive website with a Windows Live ID. Tulane students already have Windows Live IDs - the Windows Live ID is identical to the full WaveMail email account name. Student Windows Live passwords are identical to their Tulane passwords.
Tulane Faculty and Staff must create Windows Live IDs and may not use their Tulane email addresses as Windows Live usernames.
