Acceptance into the Teacher Preparation and Certification Program (TPCP) requires the following conditions:

• Completion of TPCP’S Intent to Seek Certification Application
• Transcripts verifying baccalaureate degree with minimum of 2.5 GPA
• Score reports for Praxis I or ACT/SAT/Graduate degree exemption
• Score Reports for Praxis II: Content area
• Admission to Tulane’s School of Continuing Studies
• Initial Advising Appointment & Transcript review
• Louisiana State Background check
• Two Formal Reference Letters
• Registration in appropriate Tulane courses
• Completion of the program’s level 1 E-Folio after completing the first semester of course work

All students must complete background checks as a service learning requirement to work in schools, therefore all background clearances and reference letters are due to TPCP's main office two weeks before classes begin.

Students who are interested in earning a teaching certification must schedule an advising appointment and submit documents to TPCP's main office two weeks before classes begin. TPCP advisors will review all required documents.
