Held throughout May and June, New Student Orientation is an opportunity for new first year students to get vital preparation for the fall semester. There are many benefits of attending New Student Orientation. During the overnight, two-day program you will:
You will have contact with many campus services and resources and even get your student ID card made, so that you will have fewer tasks to complete once you arrive in August. All incoming new students are strongly encouraged to attend a New Student Orientation session.
Parents are welcome to attend as well since specialized information sessions and networking opportunities will be offered just for parents. As a parent, attending New Student Orientation will help you:
Each of the nine session dates can accommodate approximately 150 students and up to 2 parents/guardians per student may attend as well. Sessions will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend that you read the specific background information on dates and fees, schedules, preparation checklists, and lodging/travel resources before you secure a space. We strongly recommend that you wait to make travel arrangements until you reserve your session space, since spaces are first-come, first served.
New International Students should visit the Office of International Students and Scholars' website to learn more about International Student Orientation.
