The NOLA Experience is an unforgettable adventure that will help you in your transition to Tulane and to New Orleans. Past NOLA Experience participants have told us that participating in this special extended Orientation program was the best decision they made during their first year at Tulane. During the week, you will be encouraged to engage in our community through a wide range of tours, visits and projects. Through small group discussion, engaging activities and personal reflection, you will begin your new life at Tulane with a better understanding of your place in the Green Wave.
Explore, Connect, Appreciate & ShareParticipating in The NOLA Experience provides a launching pad to: explore all aspects of your new community; connect with your fellow classmates, upper class student leaders and helpful campus staff; appreciate the cultural diversity, long history and rich traditions of the city and share the enthusiasm of diving into the “Only at Tulane, Only in New Orleans" experience.
We organize the experience into small 20-student groups that use a particular theme or “track” to examine New Orleans and Louisiana topics like food ("Take a Bite"), environmental awareness ("Leave No Trace") and service and social justice ("Who's Your Neighbor”). Some track topics are perennial favorites, but we also add new ones every year. Please see the Program Description page for more details.
