Apply to The NOLA Experience Program

You must be an accepted and committed first time, first year new student for Fall 2013 to apply to this program. In the 15+ years of the NOLA Experience, it’s grown to be a very popular program. One of the great benefits of the NOLA Experience program is that we limit the individual track sizes to 15-20 students each in order to foster closer connections between participants. Venue capacity, transportation and other logistical dynamics affect the overall total number of students the program can accommodate. We often receive many more applications than there are available spaces. While we cannot predict how many applications we will receive any particular year, we can advise that it helps for students to submit thorough, thoughtful applications by the deadline and remain flexible about their interest in the various track topics.

Applications should be COMPLETE upon submission. (TIP: Have someone read over your application before you submit the online form.) After the May 31, 2013, 12:00PM CDT deadline, all applications will be reviewed by the selection committee. All applicants will be notified of their status by June 19, 2013 via their Tulane e-mail address so they have two months to finalize travel plans.  (The program runs August 19 – 23.)  All accepted students must confirm their participation in the program by Friday, June 25, 2013 at 12:00 PM CDT. The $425 program fee will be charged to the student’s Accounts Receivable account in August 2013. Once a student confirms participation, refunds are only considered for extreme circumstances submitted in writing before the program begins.   

If you are selected, you will also receive your track assignment, the name of your student mentor for that track, packing instructions and an invitation for you and your parents to register for a webinar in July to review travel arrangements, packing instructions and other preparation questions.
