This weekend was the SEISA Team Race Championship at Tulane. The team of Stetson Hallowell, Whitney Horton, Mary Duncan, Chris Burd, Patrick Ryan, Jessie Yoste, and Schuyler Hemmerdinger Race against Galveston, UT, and UNO and came out victorious after a 2 race route in the finals against Galveston. Good Job Guys.
Next up..................Semis in Boston!!

The team of Jessie Yoste, Mary Duncan, Jenny O'connell, and Katie Smalley traveled to SMU to compete in the SEISA Women's Champs. The team placed 3rd out of 7, just missing the top 2 to advance to the nationals. Good job girls! Results are posted.
On another note, the Co-ed team of Patrick Ryan, Chris Burd, Mary Duncan, Jessie Yoste, and Schuyler Hemmerdinger will be traveling to Boston on May 2,3

The Tulane Sailing Team traveled to Austin, TX to compete in the Dinghy Champs. Saturday was a very shifty and puffy day and Sunday was survival mode day as only 6 of the 10 schools even went out for the last 4 races. Tulane won the regatta and will be heading to Boston on May 2,3 to compete in the Dinghy Champs Semi Finals. Chris Burd and Schuyler Hemmerdinger sailed as a team and Patrick Ryan sailed with Jessie Yoste and Mary Duncan who switched in out out. Congrats! Results are posted.

Sailing World puts out College Sailing Ranking of the top 20 schools every two weeks. The week of February 26, Tulane University received a few votes in the rankings. Check it out here. We are very excited about this as we are ranked #1 in SEISA as well. We hope to continue this trend and continue to move up in the next few regattas.
UPDATES
Our next big regattas will be Dinghy Champs at UT in Austin, Texas which we should be able to qualify for the Semis in Boston, Mass. Team Race Champs will be the next regatta here at Tulane. We need people at all of these events so if your interested come out to practice or let us know.

If you are new to sailing and would like to come out for a sail or if you have sailed before and would like to become part of the team, contact Chris Burd at cburd@tulane.edu. This team is for all types of sailors from beginner to advanced and we would love to have you as part of the team. We race in the Southeastern Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SEISA) against many schools including UNO, UT, Texas A&M, Galveston, Loyola, USA, Rice, and many others.
If you would like to compete with the team in the regattas you must register with College Sailing at collegesailing.org. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.
