2011 Season Highlights:"Steven Dailey's display of pure domination at the LSU Invitational road race. Three Tulane riders (Steven Dailey, David Feinswog, and myself) and one LSU rider pulled away from the peloton early in the race. Steven was obviously the strongest rider in the group, but we were all taking turns doing the work. Steven got a flat on his front tire with 7 miles remaining in the race. The aid car was not any help. If he stopped to change the tire, he wouldn't have a chance to catch back up. We didn't know what to do, and several miles went by when he realized he was able to hang on to the group fairly easily. He still snuck up front for a few pulls even with the flat. My lack of experience led me to make my final break for the finish with a tenth of a mile remaining, so I burned out and finished 4th. Steven used the LSU guy for all he was worth, and when it was time for his break, he pulled away. His flat front tire and valve stem smacking faster and faster. As I crossed the finish, I heard the spectators all saying, "that dude just won the race on a flat." When I told them he had been flat for 7 miles nobody would believe me.
