Ready to be part of the something big? Join the iAM New Orleans Movement!
Instead of taking the holiday off, join over 1000 students in making the national Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on January 18, 2010- "a day on" by serving the community all over the city. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is the biggest annual one-day service event that brings New Orleans college students (Dillard, Loyola, Xavier, and Tulane), as well as the universities' faculty, staff, alumni and their families together to do community service.
This partnership supports the ongoing efforts to expand the impact and capacity of partnering organizations to support The New Orleans' Diaspora effort to return, rebuild, and renew their lives since 2005's catastrophic Hurricane Katrina disaster. We have over 30 different service projects to choose from! Service opportunities are broad and varied and impact a number of issues including: wetland restoration, energy efficiency, school & neighborhood revitalization, education, celebration of the arts, local culture, and more!
This event is organized by The DREAM Team, a coalition of student leaders and staff advisors from Dillard, Loyola, Tulane, and Xavier Universities who are active leaders in community service on their campuses throughout the year.
