This celebration highlights the academic accomplishments of students by allowing them an opportunity to celebrate amongst family and friends. It is a cultural celebration that recognizes students of color as well as LGBTIQ identified students and their allies by acknowledging their achievements and contributions at Tulane University and to The O.
The Pinning Ceremony does not take the place of the University Commencement ceremony. As part of the celebration, all graduates are honored with the Faces of OMA Pin and The O Honor Cord.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs insignia has many meanings. There are three different faces with very different and distinct features, but all three are joined at the top of their heads which represents the academy that brought them together here at Tulane and the opportunity to share ideas, differences and customs.
