Our Mission

The mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is to provide students of color and Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students with the academic, social and personal support, and advocacy services that facilitate their adjustment to the University. 

It is also our mission to foster within the University community a respect for and an appreciation of the history, tradition and culture of underrepresented student populations. 

The Office of Multicultural Affairs also intends to assist the academic and administrative departments in implementing policies, programs and activities to increase the number of underrepresented students that enroll and graduate from Tulane University.

OMA desires to strengthen and enhance the diverse Tulane University community by providing and supporting programs and services in the following areas:

  • Mentoring-Ambassador Program
  • Cultural & Identity Based Student Organization Advising
  • Leadership Development and Training
  • Critical Dialogue
  • Advocacy
  • Social Justice & Cultural Programming
  • Diversity Education and Training
