Student Affairs - Inspiring Student Success
Intercultural Life

Support, Advocacy and Appreciation for All Cultures

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) strives to promote the rich cultural resources of the Tulane community and to provide all students with the academic, social and personal support services that facilitate their transition to life at Tulane and in New Orleans. Throughout the year, OMA provides programs for the campus community, such as Multi-Ethnic Student Orientation, Diversity Convocation and Pot-Luck Thanksgiving Dinner, along with speakers, events and workshops for various cultural celebrations.

OMA's organizations promote cultural and social awareness programs and events on campus, especially during our cultural celebrations: African Diaspora Week, Asian-American Awareness Week, Black Arts Festival, Celtic Week, India Week, Islamic Awareness Week, Latin American Week, Martin Luther King, Jr. Week for Peace and the Tulane University Vietnamese Association Fair.

LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) Student Life serves to create a safe and supportive academic environment by providing educational opportunities for the campus community while advocating for LGBT students, staff, faculty and their allies. Our goal is to create an open and affirming environment, void of homophobia, heterosexism and gender bias.

OMA also serves as a liaison to Tulane's religious community. The religious organizations at Tulane offer students the opportunity to continue life as a spiritual person while on campus through worship and community; to increase religious awareness and understanding on campus; and to offer religious counseling.

If you have any questions about multicultural life at Tulane, please call 504-865-5181 or email us at oma@tulane.edu.
