The Neuroscience Teaching LaboratoryIn 2006, Tulane opened a teaching laboratory dedicated to the teaching of contemporary techniques in Neuroscience. A wide assortment of Neuroscience laboratory courses are offered including Methods in Neuroscience, Biological Psychology, Psychopharmacology, Behavioral Endocrinology, Cognitive Psychology, and Cellular Neurophysiology. Students in small laboratory sections can learn techniques used by Tulane neuroscientists in their own research programs, such as automated behavioral measurement, brain tissue preparation, immunocytochemistry, molecular analyses, microscopy, neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and electroencephalography.
The Molecular Neuroscience Core Facility at Tulane University is available to the Neuroscience Program faculty and students to investigate molecular mechanisms of cell signaling in the nervous system. The facility is located on the main campus of Tulane University and provides a range of equipment to support cellular and molecular analyses, including RT-PCR, qPCR, Western blot, calcium imaging, cryosectioning, cell culture and high throughput tissue processing.
