Refrigeration Guidelines

The purpose of these guidelines is to make the most of the refrigerator for those presently using it and for those who anticipate using it. It is desirable to keep a record of all samples stored in the refrigerator and be able to trace the owner of any samples stored thereafter, saying, several years or longer. We are asking everyone to please follow these guidelines when using the refrigerator:

1. Register samples that are put in and taken out. Please label your samples properly. A register book with several fields to complete (very simple) is on the left side of the entrance.
2. Attach a name tag indicating the owner of the samples on the shelf where you store the samples. You can also add any other information on the tag for your own use. Please put the tags back after shelves are cleaned.
3. Please make the best use of space in the refrigerator. Do not occupy multi-shelves with non-essential items. There are several different shelf sizes and heights. Please save space whenever possible.
4. Try the best not to block the hallway in the refrigerator.
5. Store samples that are occasionally accessed on higher shelves. A ladder is available in the refrigerator.
6. Please do not try to change the temperature of the refrigerator. The present temperature is set at ~4 °C.
7. Please feel free to contact me if you need any help or find anything wrong.

The registration book and name tags are all in a box towards the left side of the refrigerator entrance. I am sure you will find them easily.

Finally, for everyone who has samples presently stored, please update your records/tags if you haven’t done so already. If you have any questions with respect to the guidelines, please do not hesitate to contact me.
