Juneau Icefield Research Program

Andy Menking Andy Menking spent two months studying glaciology and climate change while traversing the Juneau Icefield, Alaska. He chose the Juneau Icefield Research Program for its emphasis on the global warming crisis, as well as expeditionary training in alpine and wilderness environments. Students participated in a variety of field work projects including mass balance, GPS and gravimetric survey, avalanche monitoring, and ice sample collection from crevasses.
