Geology Alumni Reception at AAPG
April, 2010

The department of Earth and Environmental Sciences hosted a reception for alumni at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Convention which was held in New Orleans in April, 2010. The reception was well attended by Geology alumni, friends and faculty. Two departmental faculty led sold-out field trips on the weekend prior to the convention: Steve Nelson on the "Geology of the Katrina Disaster and New Orleans Levee Status," and Torbjorn Tornqvist on "Subsidence and Sea Level Rise in Coastal LA."
