Electrophysiology - Molecular technique that allows a neuroscientist to directly measure ion fluxes across cell membranes in individual neurons. Provides a means to measure changes that occur in neurons during normal, learning, or disease states.
Molecular techniques - Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, real-time PCR, and fluorescent label imaging provide a battery of tools to study cells and tissues.
