Welcome to the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. The department is deeply committed to innovative approaches in research and teaching, and these two missions are highly intertwined. We have targeted several areas to develop our research strengths, including, developmental biology, regenerative medicine and neuroscience.
As you browse these pages, you will see that our faculty and staff members enthusiastically create an environment that fosters learning through both classroom and laboratory experience. Our goal is to provide our students with broad exposure into the cellular and molecular basis of life, and to support the application of molecular techniques to medical, technological and environmental issues. With the successful integration of teaching, research and community engagement, the department trains future scientists and medical doctors and prepares these students for the challenges of the ever changing biomedical field.
