
Louisiana's first lady, Supriya Jindal, wants to expose more of the state’s children to math- and science-based careers. On Friday (April 3) she charged engineers at the ninth annual Tulane Engineering Forum with the task of speaking up about the perks of working in science professions.
The Department announces the resumption of its seminar series after hurricane Katrina. The seminars are sponsored through generous gifts from members of the Departmental Board of Advisors.
Doctoral student, Jingjing Zhan, won second place in the 2008 Graduate Student Paper Award Competition sponsored by the Environmental Division of the AIChE for his paper, "Transport and partitioning characteristics of nanoscale functional zero-valent iron/silica composites for in-situ remediation of trichloroethylene." Jingjing received his award at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the AIChE in Philadelphia.
