Rajesh Venkatasubramanian graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, India in 2006. He also graduated with a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Louisiana, Lafayette, LA in 2008. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at Tulane University.
His dissertation research is in nanoparticles synthesis using electrochemistry. He is working on additive-mediated electrochemical crystallization of anisotropic metal nanoparticles localized on substrate surface. The ability to control material’s shape directly correlates to fine-tuning their material properties. The broader objective of his research is to gain fundamental understanding of material shape-property relation in order to generate nanostructured functional surfaces for various applications such as catalysis, imaging and data storage.
